Insulated Wall
Panels

Our precast insulated wall panels are an innovative energy efficient precast solution for homes and structures.

They are flexible, durable and safe. Our wall panels are insulated concrete sandwich walls, protecting your home from all weather conditions, whether it be heat or frost.

O’Reilly Precast’s precast insulated wall panels have U-value 0.18 W/m2K which is below the new Part L, Building Regulations 2014 which require a U-value below 0.20 W/m2K.

Precast Insulated Wall Panels

It’s a common misconception that block, brick or stick built construction methods are less expensive than using insulated concrete.

In fact, concrete is one of the most durable and flexible construction materials available.

Couple that with the added features and benefits of the thermal insulation, and you can keep your project well within budget. When all factors are considered, there is no more economical way than sandwich wall construction.

Advantages of Precast Insulated Wall Panels

  • Cost and time efficiency
  • Energy efficient
  • Health benefits: maintain acceptable moisture and temperature levels, even in basements. Impedes mould and mildew growth within the walls and superior sound dampening
  • Thermal Mass Effect: absorbs and releases heat energy without losses

Insulated wall panels are used for several purposes

Thermal insulation

Insulated wall panels provide enhanced thermal insulation to the building envelope. The insulation layer within the panels helps to reduce heat transfer through the walls, improving energy efficiency and maintaining a comfortable indoor environment. This is particularly important for projects that require high energy efficiency standards or sustainable building certifications.

Energy savings

By reducing heat loss or gain through the walls, insulated panels contribute to energy savings in heating and cooling systems. This can result in reduced energy consumption and lower utility costs over the lifetime of the building.

Climate control

Insulated wall panels help maintain consistent indoor temperatures by minimising heat transfer. This provides better control over the building’s climate and improves occupant comfort.

Noise reduction

The insulation layer in insulated wall panels helps to reduce sound transmission, providing better acoustic performance and minimising noise transfer between spaces. This is particularly beneficial in buildings where noise control is crucial, such as schools, hospitals, or residential complexes.

Condensation control

Insulated wall panels help prevent condensation build-up on the interior surface of the walls. The insulation layer acts as a thermal barrier, reducing the likelihood of moisture-related issues such as mold growth or structural damage.

Faster installation

Insulated wall panels are typically manufactured as complete units, including the concrete layer, insulation, and any necessary finishes. This allows for faster installation compared to traditional construction methods, as the panels can be easily lifted and secured into place on the precast concrete frame. This results in time savings and accelerated project schedules.

Design flexibility

Insulated wall panels can be customised to meet specific design requirements, including size, shape, and finishes. This allows for greater design flexibility and architectural freedom, enabling the creation of visually appealing and unique building exteriors.

Overall, insulated wall panels integrated with precast concrete frames offer numerous benefits in construction projects. They contribute to energy efficiency, thermal comfort, noise reduction, condensation control, and faster installation. By incorporating insulated wall panels, construction projects can achieve enhanced building performance, reduced energy consumption, improved occupant comfort, and long-term cost savings.
